Jeremy Yeo Shao Wei
Jeremy describes himself as a drummer who is “not technical.” For him, drumming is about feel and drummers should always play for the music. Says Jeremy: “Anyone can play the drums!” Inspired by Vinnie Colaiuta, Gregg Bissonette, and Nate Morton, Jeremy played a a piece with guitarist Jacob Teo and once again, showcased his trademark beat-box element for his solo piece.

Jeremy is also the winner of Crowd Favourite Drummer at the semi-finals.

Lee Jit Seng
“It’s a fun instrument to play and I like the mechanism of the drums. Plus, it looks cool!” says Jit Seng when asked about his choice of instrument. Jit Seng currently plays in the instrumental progressive rock band named Damage Control and is a fan of Mike Portnoy, Steve Gadd, Gavin Harrison, Steve Smith and Thomas Lang. For the semi-finals, Jit Seng performed a track with keyboardist Isa Bin Dahlan and did a entertaining snare solo with both sticks and brushes.

Wong Wei Lung
A fan of Benny Greb and Gavin Harrison, Wei Lung has learned many instruments before he decided to be a drummer. “It feels good to be able to keep a solid groove,” says Wei Lung who deems a solid time keeping as one of the most important aspects of drumming. Although Wei Lung couldn't make it for the semi-finals, the drummer boy has recorded his performance as a competition piece under the watchful eyes of the Singapore Drum Fest committee and the video was shown to the judges on the actual day of the semi-finals.

Patrick Ang Chai Poh
“I don’t like to be in the limelight so it feels great to be the backbone of a band,” says 32-year-old Patrick who makes a living playing drums. Citing local greats such as Jimmy Lee, Gary Tan and Tony Zee as his influences, Patrick describes himself as a pop drummer and says that his playing style depends largely on his moods. For the semi-finals, Patrick brought in Melvin Wong on bass and demonstrated some impressive solid grooving.
