What We Are Trying To Say
Singapore Drum Fest 2007 & 2008, South-East Asia’s only international modern drumming festival, aims to enrich local arts and music scene through inspiring and enthralling performances from world-renowned musicians. It not only provides top-class international musical entertainment, but also educates and advances the art of drumming and music in general, both locally and throughout the region.
In fact, the event drew in music and drum enthusiasts from all parts of Asia, including Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia and Thailand; there were even those who came from other parts of the world like Australia, Finland, USA and the UK!
Although music is hardly a profitable business in this part of the world but we have persevered and believed we have contributed for the greater good of the music community. There are events that we have given away door gifts worth more than the value of the ticket.
In conjunction with Singapore Drum Fest 2007 and 2008, we held drum competitions, Drum Challenge 2007 & Drum Challenge Asia 2008, in hopes to encourage more interest in drumming and uncover budding drum talents. In 2008, we also pioneered SINGAPORE BAND CHALLENGE which is an all musical genre band challenge competition that saw high standards throughout. With the heats, semi-finals, finals of the competitions being held outdoors and open to the public, it also gave many musicians & drummers a platform to showcase their skills.
In 2008, we also held the first ever Concert in the Park at Fort Canning which attracted 2000 attendees. It featured singers and musicians from America's favourite music reality shows American Idol band and Rockstar Supernova band. Many local musicians were featured as well. It was 2 nights of great music extravaganza!
We also do pride ourselves as one of Asia’s premier music and drum events organizer. We have organized 4 professional music clinics with Thomas Lang, Will Kennedy, Carl Albrecht and Janek Gwizdala(bass). Out of which, the Thomas Lang clinic brought in a record attendance for any ticketed Singapore Music clinic at 380 people!
We are confident that Singapore Drum Fest and its multifaceted events will be synonymous with great music performances providing valuable inspiration and education throughout Asia and anchoring a pivotal role in discovering Asia’s top music talents of the future.
As our events are truly unique to Singapore in the Asian context, the opportunity for exposure and audience reach is boundless. Through our events and our various other communication channels such as our website with over 150,000 hits and our ever-expanding mailing list of more than 5,000 music and drum lovers, we are able to reach the majority of a very niche market that is yet untapped in this region – a market of Music enthusiasts and specialists.
